Date Ideas

Is it still June???

Well June was my month and I really fell down…

I had a great date planned, packed up and ready to go and the rains came (it was an outside date). My pride was bruised, and I had no back up plan, and we ended up having dinner with friends.

A few days and no available date time later, we left for Denver. I thought for sure I would find a play, concert or something to make up for it – but nothing happening. I purchased him the greatest pair of cuff links: martini glasses with little green olives, and gave them to him, and planned to take him out for a couple of martinis, and then another couple invited themselves along. So… I failed.

As much as Shawn was okay with it, I didn’t keep my word, and it diminishes that level of trust.

I did manage to get him to a Colorado Rockies and NY Mets ball game where I bought him a hot dog, beer and peanuts, but alas it was already into July.

My lesson in all of this is to always have a back up plan, and that it doesn’t have to be much: A couple of coffees from Tim Horton's and a walk down to watch the sun rise is a date in itself.

I am planning to follow through with my original date and can’t say any more than that, in case he is reading this.
